Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation
The Department of Conservation and Recreation works with Virginians to conserve, protect, and enhance their lands and improve the quality of the Chesapeake Bay and our rivers and streams, promotes the stewardship and enjoyment of natural, cultural and outdoor recreational resources, and ensures the safety of Virginia's dams.
Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy
The Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy serves a large and varied group of people, organizations and agencies throughout the Commonwealth. Through its six divisions, the agency regulates the mineral industry, provides mineral research and offers advice on wise use of resources. Its programs directly serve the citizens who live near mining operations, mining labor groups, other regulatory agencies, the educational community, the mineral industry, and environmental, consumer and industry special-interest groups.
Virginia Department of Environmental Quality
DEQ administers state and federal laws and regulations for air quality, water quality, water supply and waste management. In addition, other programs cover a variety of environmental activities, such as improving the ability of businesses and local governments to protect the environment, and offering technical and financial assistance for air and water quality improvements. Through its seven regional offices, DEQ issues permits, conducts inspections and monitoring, and enforces regulations and permits.

Friends of the Rappahannock
The mission of the Friends of the Rappahannock is to maintain the water quality and scenic beauty of the Rappahannock River and its tributaries through advocacy, restoration and education.
Tri-County/City Soil and Water Conservation District
Tri-County/City SWCD focuses on natural resource problems and solutions. Like other conservation districts, Tri-County/City SWCD is self-governed, non-profit and establishes priorities, sets policy, and administers programs to conserve soil and water resources.
Rappahannock Group of the Sierra Club
The Rappahannock Group, one of the Virginia Chapter's 13 groups, represents Sierra Club members throughout the Fredericksburg region, including the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, Caroline, Culpeper, Orange and Westmoreland. We are actively involved in a variety of local, state and national conservation issues.

Friends of Stafford Creek
The Friends of Stafford Creek is a nonprofit organization of volunteer citizen scientists monitoring water quality, advocating sustainable land use policies and watershed protection, and promoting education and stewardship of aquatic and wildlife resources in Stafford County Virginia's Potomac River tributaries
